Last Thursday, Italian duo Crookers decided to split. It was a really sad day because they've been influenting me since long time ago. [DYR#12] NOIR - IT'S ALL ABOUT THE HOUSE MUSIC (FUNKAGENDA RemIx)

So here it's back "Do you remember?" section after a long period, but I think it's a great return! It's said by some that electronic music lyrics are just some recognizable sounds that do not mind to make an easier listening to all this computer-generated sounds... In most of the tracks it could be true, but just with one big difference: we love electronic music, we do not need vocals to feel the music.

I've been arguing with people that do not like much my musical tastes and they couldn't agree that despite electronic music is not focused on lyrics they could also create strong feelings on people, just the same as "common" vocal tracks, but there're some exceptions to make this understandable. One of them is this track remixed by Funkagenda. This track was Noir's international breakthrough in 2005: (PD: Youtube version loses a lot of quality, this track is worth downloading and save it...)

SUMMER'S TOP 5 AND NEWS

It has been a long time since last post. Last month I've been really busy studying for my September's examinations which were really important for me, but I didn't forget about this blog and neither about mixing and finding more music.

In fact,I've been thinking what could I do to improve it, get more visits and make it really useful, talking about music and me. Well, I'm now working with different tools to get new functions to the site. But the most important thing is that from now and on I will start posting tracks without much or any text or comment (just the Youtube video, Soundcloud or whatever and the link), just to offer you a new good sound without searching shitty info about the artist because it really takes time to make it, for instance, I promise to bring you more quantity and (probably) quality. As you can see there's a lot of tracks I use in my mixtapes but they're not uploaded, and it really gets me angry when I create the Top 5...

TOMMY TRASH - CASCADE

I've listened to this track several times but I didn't get the name. The way I did it is curious: today before running the Olympics' 100m, Usain Bolt performed as a DJ when he was introduced to the stadium (really great!) but it wasn't just a performance I've found out that he is an amateur DJ and you can see him in this video where this track by Tommy Trash is playing. (PD: the track is great, but, doesn't it remember you to Baker Street?)

HUGOLO - HUGOLOOPS 03 (21/07/2012)

I hope everybody is having a great weekend. Yesterday I stayed at home so I decided to create my own party. So here you have the result of it, I'm really proud of the sound because know I'm starting to use new effects I didn't dare to touch very much and I'm trying new ways of mixing. I bought my mixer in October, and I thought that after one year I would be close to be an expert or something like that, and that's not true, you learn something new everyday and get new ideas to make things differently... But most of all you should like whatever you do and don't care about doing it wrong or not liking people.

[MIXTAPE #21] JACK BEATS - EVOLUTION MIXTAPE

Jack Beats is one of my favourites formations and their style is completely unique and here we have an special mixtape with a compilation of their creations and remixes. This is their comment to this mixtape:

Here is ‘Evolution’- a mixtape which we’ve made as a preview to our forthcoming release: ‘Careless’- the first of 2 mini albums we’re dropping over the next few months. Hi guys! Some years ago I really didn't understand Twitter because none of the Spanish people was using it. Actually, more and more people are creating accounts and I think it's a new way of communicating different things and socializing. So, regarding to other's blogs I thought it could be useful and also funny to create an Hugolo Music account. You can follow me @HugoloMusic and discover new things that I won't post on the blog (in fact this solves a big problem for me because there's a lot of things I can't post and lost on the queue...). If you don't use it or don't wanna get spammed with good music ( =P ) you can find on the right a new box with all the tweets to keep up to date.

I've also added a new box at the end of the blog with all the tags sorted by number of posts to discover music easily (this was planned when I started the blog, but I've been waiting to get a minimum quantity of posts to make it really useful). Maybe you've also noticed that the Facebook box is also smaller (I've removed the Facebook post's feed because it really does not make any sense...) but you can still subscribe and you can also get all the updates as usual.

Blog's traffic it's increasing as times goes by and it really makes me happy of sharing music with afar visitors and I'm just trying to reach everyone that could had the same interests. So if you have any friend with similar music tastes, just spread the word!

This is an exclusive 90min recording (well, in fact I've just recorded it ;D) from Major Lazer's show in Gdynia, Poland, at Heineken Open'er Festival that was aimed on Youtube Live a few minutes ago. It was recorded with the highest video quality possible and uploaded for anyone who wants to discover Major Lazer's live shows where there's a lot of audience's participation in a great craziness of dancehall, dubstep or moombathon as it's usual when you're listening to Diplo:

"Electrohouse is for the summer". Pleasurekraft has created a great "funky" remix from Nervo's track. You don't know Nervo? RUSTIE - ULTRA THIZZ

It seems Rustie has being one of the best revelations from 2011. To be honest I've never heard about him until today and I can only confirm all that has been said about this young Scotish artist that is bringing some fresh air to electronic music. [DYR #10] DILLON FRANCIS - MASTA BLASTA

Yesterday, after one month, we retook mixtape's section with Dillon Francis. Today, let's bring some new material to "Do you remember?" section with Dillon Francis too. I want to remember the first released hit from him "Masta Blasta" that came out about one year ago. Maybe, you have heard this track before because it's part of Diplo & Friends' intro on BBC Radio. I know it's "the youngest DYR?" ever posted, but I think this guy has talent and is mixing moombathon, electro, house and a lot of genres together with a great result.
